The days are fast. The years are faster. Where has this year gone? How are my babies already one year olds?!
Today we are celebrating their first birthday by smashing cakes, opening presents, and playing with new toys in quarantine – Thanks, COVID-19. We recorded a video of their cake smash for our families and friends to join in on the fun. As you can see the smash cake was a fail. Ha!
Preparing for this blog has been an emotional roller coaster. While flipping through all of their images, I smiled, laughed, cried, and squealed. Being born 9 weeks early, Mary and Michael’s birth story is our testimony of God’s faithfulness. The twins were welcomed into this world on Mother’s Day 2019 and share a birthday with their grandfather and late great-grandfather. The twins were born perfectly healthy and only needed to learn to eat and grow. It is truly amazing!
This year has taught me so much. For example: learning to cook, clean, eat, and bathe in under 10 minutes! Haha. Only slightly kidding! But on a real note, the twins have opened my eyes to what’s truly important and where my priorities should lie.
Being a mom is truly fulfilling. My heart is constantly overflowing with gratitude!
Somedays it feels too good to be true. I hope the twins feel the same way.
I wanted to share my very favorite photographs with you guys. In doing so I tried to keep the images at a minimum which is incredibly difficult. (You photog mom’s know exactly what I mean).
This blog is a hodgepodge of digital, film, real life, and posed.
I know I should teach Mary not to suck her thumb, but it’s SOOOOOO cute!
