Nadia and Atte had the most beautiful Indonesian wedding atop of Monte Sano Mountain at the Lodge in Huntsville, Alabama. The couple incorporated family traditions to create a meaningful wedding. I cannot get enough of the rich cultural elements that honor their heritage.
Nadia’s kebaya (blouse-dress) is a special order and hand beaded. Obviously, the intricate design is perfectly made for her and she looks stunning! Not only did they wear traditional Indonesian attire, Nadia also wore jewelry passed down from generation to generation. These pieces have been in Nadia’s family since the 18th century. You better believe I was shocked and excited to photograph these family heirlooms.
During the ceremony, Atte’s vows had me tearing up. Throughout his speech he reflects on Nadia’s selflessness and kindness. I can truly attest to this. Even on their wedding day, the couple’s biggest priority (besides saying “I do”) was making sure their guests felt special and appreciated. A lot can also be said about their friends and family. Everyone there was ready to help and support the couple in any way!
Every detail was perfect!
The bride chose white orchids and roses to keep the focus of all the details on the Indonesian accents. As always, The Dusty Daisy did an incredible job decorating the Lodge. They also put together the floral arrangements for their wedding.
They surprised us all with a second kiss during their recessional! <3
Nadia and Atte were welcomed into the reception with a traditional Indonesian dance.
As always I love a pretty night shot! How charming are these string lights and chandelier!
At the end of the night, Nadia sent me home with a traditional Indonesian doll! It’s one of my favorite pieces displayed in my office.
Thank you to Nadia and Atte for the warm welcome! It was an honor to photograph and celebrate your wedding day!
