In September Lauren Hendrix and Jordan Perry shared their “I do’s” in front of a beautiful brick fireplace at Harvest Hollow Venue and Farm. Their ceremony was very special because the groom’s grandfather married the two of them. He watched their relationship grow from the beginning, and shared many fun stories!
As I was preparing to write this blog, I decided to send Lauren an email asking a few questions, and I’m so glad that I did! It’s such an honor to photograph a wedding, but it fills my heart to another level to hear just how special these moments truly are to the people experiencing them.
I asked Lauren to share her favorite moment of the day or special moments:
“My favorite part of our wedding day was standing in front of all our family and friends and exchanging vows and saying “I do.” That truly was the best part of the entire day… Some special moments of the day was when my bridesmaids turned around and saw me in my dress for the first time, the letter that my mom wrote to me that I read BEFORE getting my make up done – she included pictures from my entire life and it was so special to me, and I would say that when I was fully ready and my mom looked at me and we both cried, that was extremely special to me.”
Since the ceremony was Lauren’s favorite part of the day, that’s where we’ll start her blog!
Being that we live in Alabama and the summer heat is no joke, an indoor ceremony option, especially one as lovely as Harvest Hollow Venue and Farm, can be a saving grace. Because of the venue’s timeless features and white walls, every bride can transform this blank slate into the wedding of their dreams.
Jordan was asked when he knew Lauren was the one:
“I mean I don’t know exactly when I knew but I knew it was very early on.. I had never felt the way I did about you towards anyone else. You were funny, pretty, and very sweet. I started to fall very quickly and when I did there was no going back. I knew you were the one I was going to marry”
**Insert an audible “aawww!”**
“Lauren – I have been praying for this moment all of my life and I can’t believe it is finally here. I love you with all of my heart.” Then he got on one knee and said “Lauren Elizabeth Hendrix, will you marry me?” We were both crying and I, of course, said YES!!!!
